This website is run by St Mary’s University. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:  

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts 
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

We are committed to making all our web based applications accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. 

Compliance Status 

This website is not compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below. 

Non-Accessible content 

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons 

Non-accessible compliance with the accessibility regulations 

Links and some other text elements fail colour contrast requirements. This fails WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast Minimum (A). 

Many of the images and icons used across the site such as active link indicator. This fails WCAG 1.1.1.

We are looking to move off of our SharePoint site, and have also implemented a new Student Records System. We will have stopped using SMRS by 30th September 2021. We will look to resolve these issues by then if we haven’t moved off the site.

Disproportionate burden 

At this time, we have made no claims of disproportionate burden.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations 

At this time, we believe all content is within scope of the regulations. 

What we’re doing to improve accessibility 

We audited these applications in 2020 to identify any non-accessible content, corrections were implemented where possible.

We have a working group which meets quarterly to track the auditing and remediation of all applications used at St Mary’s. We will continue to test applications and this statement will be reviewed again by 30th September 2021.
