SimmPay Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I pay using SimmPay?
In all Food and Beverage outlets:
- The Refectory
- Dolce Vita Café
- Naylor Café
How do I top up funds on SimmPay?
Resident students on the meal plan will have their meal credits automatically refreshed onto their SimmPay catered accounts. These will reset daily on weekdays and after each meal on weekends.
You can top up additional funds securely by debit/credit card into your Simmpay account via the SimmPay Website or on the SimmPay app.
If you are topping up for the first time then use the My Purses section to add funds. If you choose to save your card details, then you can use the Quick top up section on the first page.
How much money can I top up on my SimmPay account?
You can top up £500 in your cashless online account. You can set up the auto-top up function if you are a regular user. Check the settings in the My Purse - Cashless Purses section.
You can check your transactions and balance by checking the app or logging into the SimmPay Website.
What happens if my ID card is lost or stolen?
Inform St Mary's Security and check if it has been handed in.
If the card is lost, we strongly recommend blocking the card for Cashless Dining to stop unauthorised use.To do this, please log in to your online Cashless Catering account and then select 'Mark as lost' in the Account Details section. Once the card is marked as lost, it cannot be used by anyone else for catering purchases. You may need to pay for a new ID card from Security if your card is not recovered or found.
When you obtain a new ID card, go to any catering outlet till and ask the cashier to tell you the new ID card internal serial number. You can log in to your online Cashless Catering account and then add you new card internal serial number in the Account Detail section (Add new card). All your funds are held in your online account and no funds are stored on the ID card. You can also ask a Catering Team Leader in the Refectory to assist you with this.
We will not be held liable for any unauthorised use of funds on a lost/ stolen ID card. However, if we do find anyone misusing funds on another person's ID card we will report them to Security. Disciplinary action will also be taken against anyone who misuses another person's ID card. All 'Lost and found' ID cards must be handed to Security.
What happens if I have forgotten my ID card in my room/office?
To use funds on your SimmPay account you must have the application on your smartphone or a registered ID card that is linked to your SimmPay account. Without your SimmPay app or an ID card you will need to pay full retail price by debit/credit card.
What happens if I do not have enough funds on my SimmPay account to pay for a meal?
We request that you use the SimmPay app or SimmPay Website to regularly check your balance in advance and make sure you have enough funds to pay for food and drink. You can also set your account to auto-top up. You can enable this in the My Purse - Cashless Purses section. Cashiers will ask you to pay the full retail price by debit/credit card if you have insufficient funds on SimmPay.
