Work with us
We are always keen to work with students, especially students from various WP demographics. There are various ways you can work with WP Student Engagement, either voluntarily, or sometimes in a more formal paid capacity.
These include:
-
Become a WP Student Ambassador – Join the Student Ambassador scheme at SMU, so you can sign up for paid work supporting our various events, such as Get Set for Success. Learn more
-
Run an event for one of our initiatives – For example, running an inclusive event at Wobble Week.
-
Run your own EDI event – We are passionate about supporting all things EDI, so get in touch if you have ideas here, and we will do our best to help you.
-
Become a Student Engagement Casual staff member – We usually have at least one student doing paid work in the team. This can be anything from a couple of hours a week for a finite project, or a longer term paid internship position with us of 2-3 days a week.
-
Join a focus group – At various points, we look to hear feedback directly from students on various issues.
-
Request a meeting with one of the team to feedback – We always want to hear from students, if you have ideas on how we can better support students from WP backgrounds.
If you would like to talk to a member of the WP Student Engagement team to help you with accessing different support, you can contact us at studentengagement@stmarys.ac.uk.
