Taking steps to ensure your safety

Communities can defeat terrorism

Everyone has a role to play in helping to prevent terrorism. You can do this by remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity to the police. Don't rely on others. If you suspect it, report it to St Mary's Security Team (4335 or security@stmarys.ac.uk), or the Confidential Anti-Terrorist Hotline: 0800 789 321

Run, Hide, Tell

Although unlikely, it is useful to understand the Government guidance for dealing with a terrorist attack if one were to occur. Advice for those who get caught up in an incident, whether on campus or elsewhere, is available in this run, hide and tell video.

Prevent

Ensure you are up to date with St Mary's Prevent strategy by reviewing the pages on StaffNet. Here you will find information on staff training, welfare and pastoral care and raising concern, safety online, information sharing and a copy of the policy itself.
