Catholic Education Research Cluster members look at the breadth of Catholic Education including the diversity of provision in the UK, the diversity of the content taught in different sectors and how the sectors themselves navigate increasing demands on their resources for a rich and rewarding provision.
Jim Morehead's research focusses on science teachers working in Catholic Schools. Jim’s research is using a phenomenological methodology to investigate sacramental consciousness of Catholic Science Teachers in Catholic Schools. He is also working with Tricia Hedley from Westminster Diocese on a collaborative project on Science and Faith Post 16 materials for RE.
Mary Mihovilovic’s doctoral studies covered an exploration of the experience of Catholic teachers in secular schools using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and documentary research into the policy and practice that frame that experience. She has a document that will follow for a link.
Mary Benton’s research covers the development of an induction programme for school staff of all or no faith in order to understand their contribution to the Catholic ethos of the school.
