Starting with six young men as student teachers, St Mary’s now educates about a thousand new teachers to our wonderful teaching profession each year. We are proud that many of these new teachers advance so quickly into leadership roles in education.

As we move towards our 175th anniversary, St Mary’s is creating a Simmarian Network for Headteachers and Senior Leaders working in schools throughout the world. The Association will celebrate and nurture best practice and we hope all St Mary’s Headteachers and Senior Leaders will join as a very special community of practice.

Membership is free to all St Mary’s educated Headteachers and Senior Leaders.

What are the benefits of belonging to the Association?

Schools led by members of the Association receive discount on the following:

In addition, schools led by members have the opportunity to:

  • Advertise their vacancies with St Mary’s at no cost. Whilst a London based University, our trainee teachers teach all over the UK and beyond.
  • Work in partnership with St Mary’s where possible to place new trainees into your schools, allowing you to recruit during their training year.

Other events for schools led by members

  • Free to attend Early Career Teacher virtual support sessions for your new colleagues, taking place once a term from September 21 with invited speakers. These events support the Early Career Framework.
  • Termly newsletter from the School of Education at St Mary’s with information about CPD opportunities, courses and events on offer to your colleagues.

As the Association develops we want to hear from our members about what they believe will support them and the schools in which they work.
