BSc Physiotherapy

How to book an interview

Please note that we have received a very large volume of applications for BSc Physiotherapy and we have a limited number of places available. We are holding interviews on a limited number of dates. If you are unable to make those dates then it is unlikely that we will be able to progress your application further as we cannot guarantee any further dates will be made available.  Interviews will be held on December 18th and January 15th.

First, you need to log in to our student applicant portal.

Your username is your student ID and your initial password is your date of birth in the format DDMMYYYY.

Select the ‘my application’ tab and then select the button labelled ‘book interview’ and then chose your preferred date and time.

The interviews are being conducted face-to-face at the Naylor Building which is where practical teaching sessions for our MSc and BSc Physiotherapy take place. The address is 99 Waldegrave Road, Teddington, TW11 8LA. Please note the location for your interview is not on our main campus. Please check that you are coming to the correct location for your interview.

Applicants who are currently living overseas and will not be able to attend in person, should contact Admissions at apply@stmarys.ac.uk.

By car

There is a small car park at the back of the Naylor Building and behind 60 Waldegrave Road, which is another University building opposite the Naylor Building. You can park in any day space (marked with a D) and you will need to pay for this using the JustPark app.

Public transport

Alternatively, the 33 bus stops on Waldegrave Road and buses 281, 285 and R68 stop nearby in Teddington. The nearest train station is Teddington.

The physiotherapy team will meet you in the Naylor Reception and you should aim to arrive 10 minutes before your interview start time.

If you have completed your qualifications we will need to verify these before any offer can be made following a successful interview outcome.

Please log on to your applicant portal and select the ‘My application’ tab.

If we need documents from you then there will be a button which is labelled ‘Documents – action required’ – please select this button.

There will be a list of documents that we need. If the status is ‘accepted’ it means we have already verified the qualification. If the status is ‘required’ it means we need you to upload the relevant document. You can do this by selecting the button labelled ‘upload’.

Please ensure you:

  • rename the document so that it explains what it is; for example, if the document is a copy of your UK passport please ensure the filename is ‘UK passport’
  • only upload one copy of each document.

Please note: If the document you need to upload is made up of multiple pages please send this to the admissions team using WeTransfer instead. Please ensure you quote your student ID. The team will be able to combine your pages into one document which will make it easier for us to review.

The interview process will take a maximum two hours and you will be interviewing for approximately 30 minutes in varying stages with a member of the Physiotherapy lecturing staff. You will also have the ability to have a tour of our facilities within this time slot. Your interview is in two stages:

  • A group session, where you will be asked to watch a video of a healthcare team and as a group feedback on your thoughts.
  • A individual interview with a member of the Physiotherapy lecturing team.

Your interview will take approximately 30 minutes in total and will be made up of:

  • A group session, where you will be asked to watch a video of a healthcare team and as a group feedback on your thoughts.
  • After this you will be asked to wait in the virtual Waiting Room for a one-to-one interview with one of the academic team.
  • An individual interview with a member of the Physiotherapy lecturing team.

Your interview will be recorded. At the very start of the interview connection the recording will begin, and you will be asked to confirm that you are happy for the interview to be recorded. The interview will be terminated if you are not prepared to have the interview recorded. Once recording has been confirmed, you will need to show two forms of photo ID.

Before your interview please read the Consent Statement and Use of Recorded Interview document, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree with these statements at the start of the interview.

For your interview you will need a device with a camera and microphone and please ensure it is fully charged.

There is no specific preparation required but we would recommend that you have thought about why you would like to study physiotherapy and to look into the physiotherapist’s role within the NHS.

If you require any adjustments for interview, please email diagnostic or medical evidence of this to wellbeing@stmarys.ac.uk with information about your interview and any required adjustments.
