Kate is a governance and management consultant, lecturer and author. She has a degree in economics and operational research and a post graduate diploma in managing voluntary and non-profit enterprises.
Kate set up the Trustee Unit at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations where she compiled the first edition of The Good Trustee Guide and other publications. She then established the Charity Unit at accountants and consultants BDO Stoy Hayward. During her career she has been an employee of three charities, a Trustee of seven including Oxfam, Family Action, UnLtd and Target Ovarian Cancer, and provided consultancy services to many others.
She has co-authored four editions of Tottel's Charity Administration Handbook and is currently writing a book on charity governance and management for Bloomsbury.
