About Research

Pedro qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2004 in Portugal. He undertook specialist training in MSK, Orthopaedics and Sports Physiotherapy while working in a variety of settings including hospitals, private clinics and with professional athletes/sports teams. During this time, Pedro also established his own private clinics and lectured at the physiotherapy school in Lisbon.

Most recently, Pedro has been working as a First Contact Practitioner in NHS GP surgeries across Southwest London as well as supporting physiotherapy students during their placements as Clinical Educator.

With 18 years of experience, Pedro went back to university in 2020 to pursue a MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice. He currently works part-time in an MSK clinic, and joined St. Mary’s in 2022 as a Senior Lecturer to teach in the Physiotherapy BSc course.
